THE POSITION Reporting to the SVP & GM of Connectivity & Networking BU, the General Manager of Wired/Wireless Infrastructure & Networking (WIN) will be responsible for the company’s overall WIN business unit, which delivers connectivity and networking Wi-Fi, Blue solutions (using technologies such as Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Cellular, Small Cells, Network Processor, Ethernet amongst other things) in both licensed and unlicensed wireless spectrums to the Connected Home, Consumer Electronics, Enterprise and Carrier segments. Responsibilities include: * Developing and executing a road-map in support of the vision and strategic technical plan * Create and build the appropriate team to carry out and support the strategic plan. * Identify and work closely with top customers and its executives to establish Qualcomm as a sustained leader in the market. * Manage P&L across business. * Evaluate other players in the wireless space focused on maximizing the possible technical opportunities with a focus on possible partnerships, joint ventures or acquisitions. * Ability to work closely with internal executives and stakeholders to facilitate and gain support for long term plans based on achievement of technical and financial goals and milestone.   • Candidate will have at least 15 years in the Mobile or Networking industry.
  • Candidate will have experience as a General Manager responsible for financial and operational execution for new technology in the industry
  • Candidate will have experience with acquisitions or joint ventures.

Preferred Qualifications In addition to relevant experiences, candidates will be evaluated upon a set of competencies: Results oriented with focus on P&L management: The ideal candidate will demonstrate hands-on leadership in driving the roadmap, design, development, and delivery of the strategy, and lead an organization directly marketing and business development organizations and matrixed engineering organization, working closely with BU controller and operations leadership and their respective teams, sales organization and respective HR partner. Demonstrated ability to build and carry out a strategic plan with operational efficiency by setting strong goals and milestones both technical execution as well as financial metrics. Ability to provide executive leadership with appropriate updates and metrics to promote the continued investment in the connectivity space with a holistic approach to the wireless intersections. Team Leadership: The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, initiative oriented, recognized as a successful leader who has demonstrated the ability to organize, recruit, retain, motivate and develop a cohesive and high performance team across multiple disciplines. He/she will also be known as being accessible and approachable, respecting intellectual integrity and valuing individuality. He/she will also have demonstrated the ability to grow the professional capabilities of a team through internal development as well as external recruitment of top talent. He/she as needed is expected to make necessary organizational changes to position the business for growth in sales and profitability.
